Upgrade Bikes Ltd are a multi award-winning distributor of bicycles, parts and accessories. About the role
We are seeking to recruit a self-motivated individual with at least two years’ sales experience in a road-based environment for the Midlands & East Anglia areas of the UK.

Working as part of the Upgrade Bikes sales team, and reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be based out on the road 5 days a week, visiting dealers daily, developing and growing the sales territory whilst also securing new business. Attendance at trade and public shows will also be required, as will some weekend work supporting dealer events throughout the year.

Reporting to the Sales Manager with market feedback and product trends, you will submit weekly journey reports to gain market intelligence that can be shared with the sales, purchasing and marketing teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in road-based sales, preferably in the cycling industry, and ideally be a bicycle enthusiast with a sales background
  • Will have a proven track record of a successful sales growth strategy within a field sales basis
  • Efficient time management is essential to effectively carry out the role
  • Strong business minded individual with a desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Great interpersonal skills needed to understand dealers needs as well as develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the UK

Job Overview:

At Upgrade we know we are nothing without our customers, and this role is key to offering them the excellent service we strive for.
Fitting in with our existing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently processing B2B and retail sales orders. They will also liaise with overseas accounts so that orders are organised, and shipping information is provided accurately. Communication with our customers is via phone, email, and social media. It is of paramount importance that all queries are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner.

Main responsibilities:

  • Processing B2B sales orders and payments.
  • Processing retail account orders.
  • Communicate with our trade and retail customers via phone, email, social media, and occasionally, in person.
  • Processing and organising international account/distributor orders.
  • Provide top class aftersales support.
  • Processing backorders when deliveries arrive.
  • Assist with social media, ensuring that customers are acknowledged where required, and any questions answered, and advice delivered.


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Whilst training will be provided, we are looking for the following skills and experience.


  • A background in customer service and a drive to offer excellent service.
  • Clear communication with excellent verbal, listening, and written skills.
  • Basic IT skills and experience (most notably Sage, Outlook, and Excel).
  • An eye for detail.
  • The ability to work in a small team whilst also having the initiative to work on tasks alone.
  • Good organisation/time keeping.
  • A passion for and knowledge of bikes would be highly beneficial.
